hi substack squad!
last friday while zooming up the I-93 to visit one of my high school BFFs in Montreal i found out that my 90s vibey YA debut KILL THE LAX BRO is officially available on NetGalley.
run-on sentence for dramatic emphasis.
and no, i was not texting and driving.
if you’re someone who is already two feet into the publishing world, you probably know how significant this step in the process is. and, if you’re not — even better! because personally this is my first time as a traditionally published author, and i’m learning as i go.
let me explain:
NetGalley is essentially an online database where publishers and authors can make their books available (early) for book reviewers, Bookstagrammers, and BookTokers, to review/gram/and tok about, respectively.
get it, tok…talk…?
anyways.
this means that if YOU are a reviewer, blogger, librarian, bookseller, educator, journalist (etc etc), you can use NetGalley for free to request upcoming books from all your favorites.
aka — you can now read and review KILL THE LAX BRO!
if NetGalley isn’t your thing, have no fear! because if you are interested in helping promote this little bubblegum pink m*rder book (and me) in other ways, here’s what else you can do today:
add KILL THE LAX BRO on StoryGraph and/or Goodreads
visit your local library and ask them about ordering the book for you
visit your favorite indie bookstore and ask them about preorders (and maybe buy a book or two to treat yourself this week, and if you need any inspiration i suggest preordering Suzanne Collins’ SUNRISE ON THE REAPING or checking out CULTISH, one of my favorites by Amanda Montell, for absolutely no reason at all)
preorder KILL THE LAX BRO online here
lastly, don’t forget to follow me on Instagram and TikTok (while we have it?) and make sure to share with your other bookish friends
okay, that’s all for now!
keep reading, keep writing.
more soon xo
